Just in case you didn’t think the Obama campaign couldn’t get more arrogant, the Obama campaign unveiled a new Presidential Seal in his run for the Presidency. I’m not sure if this is just supposed to be a cheap campaign gimmick or we’re supposed to actually take this seriously. Is Obama really supposed to look more “presidential” sitting behind this thing?
The hilarious thing is that this silly seal might just land him or one of his staffers in jail for 6 months because it’s an obvious rip off of the Seal of the President among others.

18 USC Sec. 713 …
(a) Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States, or the seal of the United States Senate, or the seal of the United States House of Representatives, or the seal of the United States Congress, or any facsimile thereof, in, or in connection with, any advertisement, poster, circular, book, pamphlet, or other publication, public meeting, play, motion picture, telecast, or other production, or on any building, monument, or stationery, for the purpose of conveying, or in a manner reasonably calculated to convey, a false impression of sponsorship or approval by the Government of the United States or by any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.(b) Whoever, except as authorized under regulations promulgated by the President and published in the Federal Register, knowingly manufactures, reproduces, sells, or purchases for resale, either separately or appended to any article manufactured or sold, any likeness of the seals of the President or Vice President, or any substantial part thereof, except for manufacture or sale of the article for the official use of the Government of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
The real question is who is going to call his campaign on this? I would imagine that President Bush might have some say in this….it is a rip-off of his seal after all.

Barack’s Seal is pure cheeseball, pretentious, and juvenile. Will SNL jump all over this? I doubt it. With that seal it would be fitting for BHO to wear a Burger King crown when he is at the podium. For me with this latest piece of work it removes all doubts that he is a malignant narcissist.

Another diversion from the “real” issues. The seal does not contain the word “President”. Another big deal about nothing.
How about the people losing the entire life in the broken dams in Missouri and other midwest states? Houses washed away.
How about the price of gas and food? How about discusing issues that matter to people?
The first line of the articles says iit all. Just another reason to blast Obama.
How is McCain going to make things better for anyone besides the rich? His tax plan would give him another $365,000. It would also give Obama more money, but it would not give me more money.

Baroque Obozo couldn’t even get the Latin phrase correct on that stupid looking ’seal’…the correct Latin idiomatic phrase for ‘yes,we can’ is actually ‘certe, possumus’….’certe (pronounced ker’tay) has always been the accepted word for an affirmative response in that it literally means ‘certainly’ and is the root word for certain, certify etc….he is slowly morphing into the ‘Seinfeld candidate’…a campaign sitcom about nothing…not that there’s anything wrong with THAT!

Its all been done before… But of course it was almost 40 years ago and at the time considered a joke. Well, maybe it still is.

Interesting. I wonder how long before this disappears completely. It is interesting how many problems various seals, pins, and so forth are causing Mr. Obama. I suppose it could be worse. It could be interns….

Jim,
Please don’t play the class warfare card. Who are the so called “rich” in this country? Probably your employer. I believe they consider “rich” to be anyone who makes more than about $175K a year…which is hardly considered super rich.
So, if Obama gets in office and really sticks it to the rich, will that really make your life better? Probably not, because your employer will feel pinched and probably make cut backs…either by cutting your salary, not giving you a raise, laying off people, or raising the prices on the items/services. All of these are bad for the middle/lower class.
So this class warfare stuff doesn’t work. If you screw the “rich”, the “rich” screw the rest of us. If you cut taxes on the people who actually pay them (the “rich”) then that trickles down to the rest of the country. Get a clue man.

Exactly. So many Americans feel that “evening” the playing field will actually work, or make things better in some way. In fact, higher taxes doesn’t always even lead to higher revenue, so while taxes are a necessary evil, and the government needs to tax at some level, higher taxes are not the magic spell that will make everything better. Well-spent revenues are a good thing, and we should spend time focusing on just how our government is spending our tax dollars, but we shouldn’t try to punish people for their success. That’s not very American, and will only lead to other un-American things, like high unemployment rates, and an ever-burgeoning Big Government. No Nanny State, thank you very much!
